MYTIME Young Carers

MYTIME Young Carers

A charity supporting young carers, navigating a pivotal moment of growth — and building the people infrastructure to match their ambition.

THE CHALLENGE

employees at engagement start

MYTIME was growing, and growth was bringing complexity. New leadership team members and wider staffing changes had created a need for greater alignment and support. With a hybrid working model already in place, inconsistencies in communication and expectations had become more visible, and the absence of clear people processes was beginning to show as the team expanded. Without a dedicated people function, maintaining culture, supporting staff wellbeing, and managing a growing team was becoming increasingly difficult. MYTIME knew what kind of organisation they wanted to be — they just needed the right support to grow into it.

HOW WE WORKED TOGETHER

The approach.

Maat embedded into MYTIME as their fractional Head of People & Culture, working across the full scope of the organisation. We started by delivering values training for the whole team, which laid the foundation for a range of initiatives designed to bring those values to life in everyday practice — including a refreshed recognition scheme and the launch of Culture Champion and Kudos Corner.

We built out the people infrastructure the organisation needed to scale with confidence: a structured onboarding passport, a clear probation process, a flexible TOIL system, maternity processes, and wellbeing surveys. Strategically, we worked on objective setting and clarity of direction, developed a talent planning process, improved recruitment, and launched regular team Huddles to strengthen communication. Throughout, leaders and team members had access to 1:1 coaching support.

THE IMPACT

What changed.

MYTIME emerged from the engagement with clearer systems, stronger communication, and a more consistent, values-led approach to people management. New starters now have a structured, supportive experience from day one. The team has greater clarity and alignment through improved objective setting and talent planning. And perhaps most importantly, the culture that makes MYTIME who they are has been preserved and strengthened — not diluted — through a period of significant growth.

Voices From MYTIME Young Carers

"

Maat has brought clarity and structure at exactly the right moments — and Haydan's presence and compassion have been felt right across the organisation. The impact shows up not only in the systems we now have, but in the trust, confidence, and sense of belonging that have grown alongside them.
